I've never managed to just be into *one* fandom - I read too much and too quickly for one fandom to satisfy me. I also like to convert other people to the fandoms I like, so I'm going to feature my "fandom introduction" pages here.

Note that while I read slash, het and gen, slash is the part of fandom that usually entertains me most. Yes, I have some fandoms where there's hardly any slash, but if there are possibilities, I'm likely to point them out. Also note that some of these anime/manga have canon m/m pairings.

I'm not going to pretend that these aren't biased - they will introduce you to *my* view of the show/manga/anime.

  || From Eroica With Love || This is a good starting fandom, because even tho it's based on a manga, the fandom itself is mostly made up of slash fans, and thus very similar to most Western fandoms. It's about a surly and rather homophobic German NATO major, and a very flamboyant and very gay British Earl and thief, who promptly falls in love with him.

  || Gundam Wing || The show itself is about young boys/men in giant mecha (robot-like war machines) blowing up stuff and fighting a war. While the underlying concepts on war and peace are definitly interesting, the real appeal lies in the fact that you have 7 males who're all incredibly slashable.

  || Weiß Kreuz || The anime itself isn't all that good - however, you have 4 yummy guys who by day run a flowershop, and by night are assassins who kill the criminals that the police can't get. Add their rivals (4 more yummy guys) who also are assassins, and the fact that everyone has a dark past, and you have lots of yummy slash potential. The main attracting for this fandom is the fanfiction - some of which is very very good - and, tho a lesser extent, the Japanese voice actors.

  || Toyko Babylon || It's about the twins Sumeragi Subaru and Hokuto, who're 16, and their best friend, Sakurazuka Seishirou, who's 25. Seishirou is very nice, and always helps Subaru, and Hokuto keeps teasing the both of them that they should marry because they make such a wonderful couple and it's all very nice - but it's a series by CLAMP, so you just *know* there's more going on...

  || X || A sort-of sequel to Tokyo Babylon, but also much more. The 7 Dragons of Earth and the 7 Dragons of Heaven are called to battle to decide the fate of humanity on the Promised Day. Among them are Subaru and Seishirou, and we'll finally see what became of them after TB. However, the main character of this series suffers from even more angst than Subaru... still, there's lots of interesting characters, m/m subtext, and the animation is really gorgeous. It's also one of the few anime that have halfway decent fanfiction.

  || Rurouni Kenshin || Set in the Meiji era (around 1868), a wandering swordsman with a rather bloody past who has sworn off killing finally settles down in a dojo run by a young woman. He quickly accumulates more friends who start to hang out at the dojo - but of course, the past that he left behind 10 years ago is going to come back to haunt him. Surprisingly enough, tho, this is mostly a lighthearted series, but still, season 2 has some of the best plot I've seen in anime. Extremely recommended.

  || Rurouni Kenshin OAV || This is set 10 years before the TV series, and is significantly darker, and also has very realistic artwork, and gorgeous animation and music. I'd recommend this even for peole who normally don't watch anime.

  || Card Captor Sakura || Its's cute, and it's very very pink. Still - once you get over these facts, there's a very nice story in there, and also a very sweet background m/m vibe going on, and then, later in the series, you get more characteres that add even more fun. And if you look closely, it's not as fluffy as it seems...

  || Fushigi Yuugi || 2 high-school girls get transported into a magical book-world (that is very similar to ancient China). One of them ends up as the legendary priestress of an animal god, who's goal is now to find her 7 protectors so she can gain 3 wishes and return home. But what happened to the other girl... Well, you'll find out, but then, the 2 girls aren't the really interesting bit of FY - but the protectors, on the other hand...

Series I plan to write about, eventually:

Fruits Basket
Saiyuki
Yami no Matsuei
Brimstone
Final Fantasy VIII
Pretear
Pet Shop of Horrors
Shoujo Kakumei Utena
Escaflowne
Yu Yu Hakusho
